Welcome to the Lime Wind Energy Project homepage.

The Lime Wind Energy Project is a 3 Megawatt wind farm planned for Lime (near Huntington), Oregon in Baker County.  It represents a number of firsts. It's the first community wind farm in Oregon, and the first on federal Bureau of Land Management land. It is also the first project of its kind funded by a state Department of Energy loan.

The United States Department of Agriculture has awarded Joseph Millworks a Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant of $500,000, as well as a loan guarantee of $2,227,140.  Click here for a full press release and list of award recipients.

Joseph Millworks is pleased to announce the selection of Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company as the CM/GC for the Lime Wind Energy Project.

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company will be providing a team of professionals with wind turbine and power plant experience for this project. Chris Prahl will be the Construction Manager and present on site during construction. He brings experience in commercial construction and experience with deliveries, installation, and commissioning of wind turbines from a previous employer. Jeff Kerr will be the Project Manager and brings 35 years of construction experience which includes power plants as well as complex commercial construction.

Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company is located in Bend, OR and has notable experience in green building and renewable energy. Recently awarded Central Oregon Builder’s Association’s 2008 Green Building Contractor of the Year and member of Pacific Power’s Blue Sky program and AWEA Business Member, Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company is committed to the development of renewable energy. Kirby Nagelhout Construction Company is experienced in both Construction Management and self-perform work and is excited about this unique project.

Joseph Millworks received many qualified proposals and would like to express deep appreciation to all of these firms. It was a very difficult choice with so many extremely qualified firms interested in the project.
